Srinagar (Jammu &Kashmir), June 18 (ANI): Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) has set up a toy library for children who are cancer patients. Aim is to make them happy during treatment. The room encourages children to walk and play with toys which make doctors easy to deal with paediatric cancer patients. The initiative was taken a few months ago in collaboration with Hasbro India and Nargis Dutt Foundation. “The motive of setting up this library is – children admitted in the ward get depressed or bored or they think about their medical condition. Even their parents get depressed. So we decided to come up with an idea where they will get a feeling that they are free from this malignant condition. So we want to give them a good environment and feeling to create positivity”, said Dr Faisal Guru, Paediatric Oncologist.
