Lightning strikes kill over 60 in parts of India

More than 60 people were killed by lightning strikes in India's Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh states in the last 24 hours, officials said on Monday. Meanwhile, flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall wreaked havoc in northern Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, damaging several houses and affecting normal life. A six-member central team of experts on Monday visited India's southern Kerala state to monitor the Zika virus situation and support the state government in management of cases following the outbreak of the disease.
