J&K Administration starts production-based incentive scheme for cocoon farmers

Anantnag (J-K), Nov 24 (ANI): The Sericulture Development Department (SDD) started a novel scheme, namely production based incentives for cocoon farmers of Anantnag and Kulgam districts in South Kashmir. The scheme was inaugurated by Director SDD J&K, Manzoor Ahmad Qadiri in the presence of District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, Anantnag, M Yousuf Gorsi. SDD Director briefed the farmers about the scheme and motivated them. Chairman M Yousuf Gorsi, appreciated the role of Sericulture Development Department in uplifting the economic condition of the farmers. “Such schemes provide a platform for people to set up sustainable entrepreneurial ventures and people must come forward and derive maximum benefit from such opportunities,” said DDC Chairman Manzoor Ahmad Qadiri.
