Kashmir native develops auto-protection model to save crops from hailstorm

Anantnag (J&K), March 02 (ANI): A government school teacher Raja Waseem Nazir, has developed an auto-protection model to prevent heavy losses for the orchardists and farmers during inclement weather. He hails from the Sallar village of Anantnag District in Jammu and Kashmir. The model, that he made, works automatically in the hailstorm. It operates mechanically and sensors are set up to detect hail and deploy a net that protects the crop from the devastating effects of hail. It can save rainwater which is used later for the irrigation of orchards and crops. It is an eco-friendly model and does not harm insects, particularly honey bees which support pollination. These features of the model will bring many benefits to farmers by protecting crops from hail and restricting rainwater.
